Week 7: Taking the time to feel into your own body

Intro

Thokoza khehla , I know it’s late but I needed to care for myself before I could connect outside of myself.

You will need 15 minutes and something to capture your thoughts to complete this assignment.This assignment is focused on feeling into your own body. #hopework #HopeworkSet7

There is no threaded version this week.

Step-by-step

1) Find a comfortable and safe place to sit or lay with your eyes closed.

2) Open the Smiling Mind app. Go here if you don’t already have the app.

3) We will be using the Belly Breathing exercise.

a. Return to the Year 1 Classroom.

b. Select Belly Breathing.

4) Get comfortable then hit play.

5) Take the remainder of your 15 minutes to write down a few sentences or words about your experience with this exercise. 

Here are some questions to get you started:

  • What happened in your mind and body as you practiced the exercise?
  • Was it easy or difficult to breathe into your belly?
  • How do you feel towards the exercise: more positive, more negative, or more neutral?
  • What thoughts, if any, did you notice while doing the exercise?

After you finish writing, feel free to read what you wrote and add to it if you feel moved to do so.

Extra hopework: Try listening to Belly Breathing or Glowing Bubble Breathing once a day this week.
